Home / LIBERTY GIROVAGANDO: IL BELLO DELL'EUROPA / GERMANIA / DARMSTADT / Mathildenhohe / Haus Ostermann 1908 or Alfred-Messel-House 3
Was built in 1908 for Paul Ostermann von Roth, the director of the collection of the grand duchy, by Alfred Messel, the architect of the architect of the Royal Prussian Museums.
Messel is one of the most well-known German architects at the turning point to the 20th century, creating a new style for buildings which bridged the transition from historicism to modernism
The classical style of the villa hasn't relation to the Art Nouveau of the Artists‘ Colony.
Ostermann House, or Alfred-Messel-House, now is the home of "Hessen Design“.
